Cookie Policy
Last updated: 18 September 2026
This policy explains how allisonlocke.com, run by Aspeya Aleksieva (writing as Allison Locke), uses cookies and similar technologies. For how we handle personal data in general, see our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, work in much the same way. In this policy, “cookies” covers both.
How we use cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. We use one analytics service, Google Analytics, and it runs only if you allow it. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
Under the EU ePrivacy rules and the Bulgarian Electronic Communications Act, we may store strictly necessary cookies without your consent, because the website cannot work properly without them. Analytics cookies are different: we set them only after you give consent. They are described below.
Strictly necessary cookies
| Name | Provider | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
wpconsent_preferences | allisonlocke.com | Cookie | Remembers your cookie choices so we do not ask again on every page. | 30 days |
wordpress_test_cookie, wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_* | allisonlocke.com | Cookie | Keep site administrators signed in. Visitors who do not log in never receive these. | Session, or up to 14 days |
Analytics cookies (only with your consent)
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which pages people read and how they found the site. It does not load until you click “Accept All” or switch on Statistics under “Preferences”. If you click “Reject” or make no choice, Google Analytics does not run and sets no cookies.
| Name | Provider | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Cookie | Stores a random ID so Google Analytics can tell visits from the same browser apart. | 2 years |
_ga_DEFGKF84SP | Google Analytics | Cookie | Keeps track of the current visit. | 2 years |
When it runs, Google Analytics receives the pages you view, the site that sent you here, your device and browser type, and your approximate location, which Google works out from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses from EU visitors. We do not use this data for advertising. Before a page address reaches Google Analytics, we remove any Kit subscriber ID from it. Google Analytics also records which buttons and links you click, with the button’s text and where it leads. For email links we record only that an email link was clicked, and for downloads only the file type.
Google Ireland Limited provides the service and processes this data on our behalf. Google may also process it in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. We keep Google Analytics data for no longer than 14 months. To learn more, read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Our legal basis is your consent, as the EU ePrivacy rules, the Bulgarian Electronic Communications Act and Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR require.
Newsletter sign-up form
The sign-up forms on our homepage and on the bonus scene page are simple forms. They send your email address to Kit only when you submit them, and they store nothing on your device. For how Kit handles your data, see Kit’s Privacy Policy.
After you confirm your subscription, the button in the confirmation email opens a private page where you can read and download the scene. That page sets no cookies of its own and does not ask you to log in.
Managing your choices
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with the cookie settings button that appears on every page. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything that happened before. When you change an earlier choice, the banner deletes the cookies this website has set and saves your new choice. If you withdraw consent for Statistics, Google Analytics stops loading on your next page view. You can then delete its _ga cookies in your browser.
You can also block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the website may not work, and we will ask for your cookie choices again on each visit.
Changes and questions
We update this policy when the cookies we use change. The date at the top shows the latest version. Questions: press@allisonlocke.com.
