About Allison Locke

Allison Locke writes adult dark fantasy about power, dangerous bargains and the intimate damage people do in the name of duty. A software product manager and mother of one, she is drawn to complicated systems, morally compromised people and stories in which every choice leaves a mark.

Her work in software product management gave her a lasting fascination with how people build systems and how quickly “working as intended” can become a threat. That curiosity runs under her stories, where institutions and old assumptions are rarely as stable as they look.

She is a lifelong reader of speculative fiction, drawn to stories where beauty and danger sit very close together. Her books are about bargains with hidden costs, and about people who rarely understand the price of a choice until they have already made it.

A Stitch of Bone and Silk, the first novel in The Order of the Seam, comes out on 1 December 2026.
